Case of the Red Box

The Pequod Review:
Case of the Red Box is Rex Stout's fourth Nero Wolfe novel; in it, Wolfe and Goodwin investigate the death of a fashion model (Molly Lauck) after she ingests poisoned candy. Goodwin features too infrequently in the investigation — it's funny how Wolfe is more interesting when he is absent, but for Goodwin it is the opposite — and the story turns on a gimmicky plot involving an incriminating red box. But it all comes together nicely in the end.
