The Book of Questions
Rating
The Pequod Review:
Completed by Pablo Neruda just before his death, The Book of Questions is a scattered and occasionally intelligent collection of 74 short poems, mostly structured in the form of questions. For example:
Tell me, is the rose naked / or is that only her dress.
Why do trees conceal / the splendor of their roots?
Who hears the regrets / of the thieving automobile?
Is there anything in the world sadder / than a train standing in the rain?
Recommended.
