Being Mortal: Medicine and What Matters in the End
Rating
The Pequod Review:
Being Mortal examines a critically important subject (balancing quality-of-life with longevity for terminally ill patients) but Atul Gawande’s insights are more obvious and less insightful than in his earlier book Complications (2002). And the best chapter of this book appeared previously in the New Yorker (“Letting Go”).
