The Pequod Review:

Published in 1994, Bad Seed covers less than half of Nick Cave’s extraordinary musical career — and even worse it is the inferior half. It also is too often merely a litany of facts and events, rather than any kind of rounded picture of the Australian musician. But it is informative and detailed, especially on the early history of The Birthday Party (a much more important band than is commonly recognized) and Cave’s overall approach to his artistic process.
